REMINDER Year 3 Butser Ancient Farm - Monday 2nd June - please make payment via ParentMail during half term as this is our first day back! We have some exciting times ahead in Year 3 and are delighted to give you lots of notice about one of the trips we are looking to book this year. As part of our Stone Age topic in the Summer Term, we will be visiting Butser Ancient Farm where we will have the opportunity to take part in a range of activities from archaeological digs to 'wattling'. This trip will take place on 2nd June 2025. Children will travel by coach, leaving Bosmere at 9am promptly and we will return to school before the end of the school day. Children may wear their own clothes, (children will NOT need to wear uniform) with sensible shoes and, depending on the weather forecast, a sun hat/sun cream/waterproof coat. All children must wear trousers as we are outdoors and this will prevent the likelihood of ticks. Children may wear short-sleeved t-shirts, but they must have a suitable jacket relevant to the forecasted weather. We are out in the elements all day and a cold, wet or sunburnt child does not make for a happy experience! Please note that we will be entering some replica round houses which will have lit fires in the centre. The children will return smelling of smoke, so please make sure they are not in their favourite clothing. All children will need a packed lunch, snack and a drink (no chocolate, chewing gum or fizzy drinks). These can be carried in a rucksack. As part of our visit, the children will have the opportunity to purchase a souvenir from the shop. Please provide change in a named purse £5 is plenty. The total cost for your child to attend this trip/event is £24.60 and should be paid before the trip takes place.
