Eco-School
Bosmere is an Eco School!
With news every day making us more aware of climate change and the impact this has on our world and particularly that of our young people, we want to play our part and take action. In September 2021, Bosmere started on the programme set up by Eco-Schools.org.uk, following the seven-step framework which has been designed to 'empower and motivate pupils to drive change and improve environmental awareness in their school, local community and beyond’.
As a result of the amazing work put in by all our Eco Councillors led by Mrs Fisk and Mrs Reed last year, Bosmere was awarded the status of Eco School with distinction!
We have some exciting new challenges ahead as we forge ahead with even more green efforts this year... WATCH THIS SPACE!
Now that Mrs Fisk has left Bosmere, Mrs (Library) Dunn has taken on the responsibility of leading the club and we are currently encouraging pupils to join our new Eco Committee who will be responsible for encouraging their peers and the rest of the school community as we continue to work as an Eco School.
Meanwhile, Bosmere's amazing giant collages of endangered animals, created as part of our Book Week activities in March 2022, will be on display in the town as part of Havant Big Green Week. Between Saturday 24th September and Sunday 2nd October 2022, a series of events are planned around the whole of Havant Borough. There will be Eco Fairs on 24th September, a Sustainable Fashion Show on 29th September, walks, talks, plant sales, films, coffee mornings and more. If there are any adults or parents who would like to get involved, Mrs Dunn would love to hear from them and can be contacted via email: b.dunn@bosmere.hants.sch.uk
Every month we will be publishing updates on how we are getting on - select from the menu on the right at the top of this page.
