Our School Council
Bosmere’s school council is made up of twelve children, one from each class in the school. Children are elected by their peers at the start of the year after participating in our high-profile election process.
What impact does our school council have?
We are proud to have an active school council at Bosmere, who work collaboratively with each other and members of staff. Our school councillors represent the views of their peers and make positive changes to the school and wider community. In recent years they have taken part in fundraising for Wave 105’s Cash for Kids and Cancer Research UK by holding a very successful Race For Life. In school, they have contributed to positive changes in our dinner hall – renaming it ‘Bosmere’s Delicious Diner,’ agreeing a set of lunchtime rules and voting for a ‘top table’ where children can enjoy lunch with Mrs Robinson on a Friday. They have also made changes to the school PE kit, introducing t-shirts in house team colours, and agreed on a non-school uniform day for the team with the most housepoints each half term.
Moving forward, we are delighted to be involving our school council in a review of our school grounds, looking to improve the opportunities for outdoor learning and promoting a greener ethos in school. Our school councillors are also keen to organise charity fundraising, as well as looking at ways to support our PTA.
We are incredibly proud of our school council members, past and present, and look forward to sharing their future successes.
