Traffic Issues on South Street Once again, there are ongoing congestion issues on South Street. Despite previous reminders, we continue to see unsafe and illegal parking near the school, which puts children at risk and causes serious disruption. It is shocking that on Friday the Police had to be called to an altercation related to parking. This should not happen. To help address these concerns, traffic wardens will step up the frequency of their patrols. They will continue to enforce parking regulations and will also be checking to see that people are using Blue Badges correctly: Misuse of a Blue Badge is a criminal offence under UK law. This includes using a badge that does not belong to you, lending it to someone else, or using it when the badge holder is not present. Offenders can face fines of up to £1,000, immediate confiscation of the badge, and even prosecution, which may result in a criminal record. Traffic wardens have the authority to seize Blue Badges on the spot if they suspect fraudulent or improper use. The Blue Badge scheme exists to support people with genuine needs. Misusing it undermines this purpose and will not be tolerated. We strongly urge all parents to park legally and responsibly. Please allow extra time for your journey and use designated parking areas. Remember that our Park and Stride system at Tesco is available and provides a safe, convenient alternative to parking on South Street.
